WMVP058 - Not Sitting by Karoshi

Artist: Karoshi
Track: Not Sitting
Director: Nick Light

This weeks video combines two well worn tropes into an interesting visual story.

For Karoshi's track 'Not Sitting' director Nick Light has produced a variation of the Frankenstein myth. Karoshi are not an easy band to categorize, so instead of dead bodies the elements that make up 'Karoshi's Monster' are all the different genres of music that go into the Karoshi sound. After that clever opening the story then develops into a cautionary tale of the perils of fame. A well-worn story of sex, drugs and rock-and-roll ensues before eventually the Monster must be destroyed.

An interesting narrative that take well-worn ideas and puts some imagination into them.

See you next week for another great music video.

  1. I know how these Frenchies roll. The monster is obviously a metaphor for the U.S. and how they want to destroy it!

Still, it's a pretty cool video.

  2. Cool video! So many little hidden (or maybe not so hidden) references in there to other musicians.
