WMVP074 - The Emancipation by Tricil

Artist: Tricil
Track: The Emancipation
Directors: Franck Trebillac & Marc Broussely

This weeks video has the feel of a distorted music box.

Dancer and industrial band frontwoman Miss Maleficent Martini takes the role of a ballet dancer in a bizarre old-fashioned surrounding. She is not your typical ballerina and this is not your typical ballet music. Tricil is a dubstep artist and his jagged style of music is matched by the jagged, yet still beautiful, movements of Miss Martini.

Adding to the music box feel, directors Trebillac & Broussely use kaleidoscope type effects to increase the feel of movement on a small scale. These kaleidoscope reflections are reminiscent of videos by Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jet, but here they are used perfectly to fit with the style of track.

  1. I like that track very much. Certainly a video track, I'm not entirely sure that it would work as a audio experience, but that video - is probably one of the best played so far in my wmvp watching.
